Here is a great specimen of Goethite from the Zagora Province, Drâa-Tafilalet Region, Morocco.
This specimens form is an amazing talking points and would look stunning in a display.
It shows distinctive characteristics of its botryoidal habit. The hummocky look to the surface on the top and then on the side of the specimen you can see the radiating fibrous structure of the goethite, which is the reason for the hummocky appearance. This is then sitting on massive goethite which just add to the specimen.
The bright distinctive metallic lustre coming from the surface of the silvery grey coloured mineral finishes it off
A wonderful example to display botryoidal form and fibrous crystals at the same by an attractive specimen.
No damage or repair.
We do have other goethite, iron oxide minerals and minerals with a botryoidal habit. If you would like more information, please do contact us.
